(Monthly) Join our members as they make their monthly visits to the homes of the elderly residents in Indus Road, Chinatown and Bukit Merah.
These visits are held on Fridays, from 5pm to 7pm.

Character Building Programme
(Fortnightly)
Mentor children at risk and help them stay within the education system. Volunteers spend two hours with children from disadvantaged families in Yishun. Sessions are held on Thursdays, from 7pm to 9pm.

Enriching Children Lives - Ongoing (15 April 2005)
CSC embarked on a Character Building Programme for children-at-risk, which commenced on 15 April. Our volunteers help to organise and run activities to develop the children’s sense of belonging to the community and to help them stay in the education system. Through story telling, art and craft, songs and assignments, the programme promotes good behavioural traits, which include attentiveness, patience, honesty and responsibility.
Fortnightly sessions are conducted on Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 9.30pm
at the We ShareCare Centre at Blk 102, #04-127, Yishun Avenue 5, Chong Pang.

Excursion to the Singapore Zoo
(19 June 2004)
Our volunteers took some 20 children from the Character Building Programme for a fun-filled morning at the Singapore Zoo, where they had the chance to see up close the animals that represent the good behavioral traits that they were taught in the Programme.
Visit to Assisi Children's Centre
(19 June 2004) Our volunteers spent an afternoon befriending the little ones at Assisi Children's Centre, which offers day care to children afflicted with cancer.
Luncheon Treat for the Elderly
(28 February 2004) Some 60 elderly poor whom CSC befriends were treated to a sumptuous six-course luncheon at the renown Tien Court Restaurant at Copthorne King’s to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The happy occasion culminated with the distribution of hong baos to our guests.
Sunshine Day at Henderson Senior Citizen's Home
(17 January 2004) Our volunteers brought smiles to some 100 senior citizens of Henderson Home with a session of karaoke and games, which was followed by a catered lunch at the home.

Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival with Single-Parent Families

CSC makes a wish come true for children (and parents) of single parent families.
100 friends from HELP Family Service Centre will be taken on an excursion to the Chinese Garden on 11 Sep.
Training Workshop for Volunteers
(6 September 2003) CSC volunteers will undergo training on how to help needy children, and enrich their lives through character building exercises.

Raising Funds for Assisi Carnival
(20 July 2003) Volunteers rallied during this fun-filled Sunday to raise funds for cancer patients at the Assisi Home and Hospice Carnival. They whipped up a sumptuous spread of Nonya, Indian, Chinese and Malay food specialties, as well as a wide array of snacks and desserts.

Community Carnival
(12 January 2003) In a spirit to promote social cohesion and goodwill within the community, CSC set up two stalls - a Nonya Food Stall and A Flea Market selling second-hand goods - at Lot 1 Shoppers’ Mall.
Visit to the Henderson Senior Citizens' Home
(4 January 2003) On Sat, 4 Jan 2003, staff and their families volunteered their time, and talents to entertain the elderly at Henderson Senior Citizens' Home.
CSC provided lunch for the elderly and organised games, that included BINGO, and "passing parcel". The elderly folks gamely sang karaoke songs and cheered each other on enthusiastically.

An Opera-tic Evening for the Lonely Elderly
(3 July 2002)
The elderly were also not forgotten CSC organised an excursion to a traditional Teochew Opera. About 20 elderly folks living in 1-bedroom HDB flats in the Indus Road/ Chinatown areas were treated to a performance entitled "Liu Chang Restores the Dynasty", staged by the Teochew Drama Association on 3 July 2002 at Victoria Theatre in the City.
These are among the 100-odd elderly poor that the Club has befriended.
Chinese New Year Delight for The Less Privileged
(19 January 2002) To further brighten the festive season for the lonely elderly, in addition to the Dim Sum Lunch on 19 January 2002, City Sunshine Club organised an outing for its befriendees to see a Cantonese opera at Kreta Ayer People’s Theatre on 1 February 2002.
Entitled “Jing Ke The Assassin” the performance was staged by the renowned Chinese Theatre Circle..
